Master Details has released a follow-on to their USAF Jet
Pilot figure (reviewed here)
with some new heads and different arm poses. This figure is
as versatile as the first release, and this time they've included
a moustached pilot to represent Colonel Robin Olds.
Two sets of arms are included, one each grasping stick and
throttle, the other set with left hand resting on leg and the
other adjusting his O2 mask.
Four different heads are included in this set, all wearing the
hard-shell 'bone dome':
- Mask off, visor up
- Mask off, visor down
- Mask on, visor up
- Mask on, visor down
This figure would look great in the Tamiya
1/32 F-4C/D/E and would pair up nicely with the original figure
to provide some variety. What would also be a nice supplement
to this basic figure is a set of heads to represent Daniel
'Chappie' James. While Olds commanded the 8th TFW, James served
initially as the director of operations (DO) and later Vice
Commander of the 8th and were a well known duo in the Pentagon.
This figure is available directly from the manufacuter at
Master Details' website.
My sincere thanks to Master
Details (http://www.masterdetailsfromusa.com) for this review sample!
