Background
The UH-1N is a twin-engine helicopter developed by Bell Co. The
original model had its first flight in 1968, and about 600 units
have been produced until 1987. This helicopter is presently in
use by the USAF, and the US Marine Corps, it is powered with the
PT6T-3B engine instead of the original PT6T-3, for better performance.
The improved version AB 212 ASW, designed through technical cooperation
with the Italian firm Agusta Co, was equipped with an sonar operations
hydraulic system, automatic hovering devices, etc, in order to
make it into an anti-submarine, anti-warship helicopter. USAF's
UH-1N is also used for general purposes and support roles at American
bases in US and Japan.
The Kit
The kit includes 89 light gray plastic parts on two trees and
one tree of clear windows. The fuselage has finely recessed panel
lines and very small rivet detail, very little flash and no sink
marks are present with my copy.
Interior details include a detailed main instrument panel, no
decals, pilot, co-pilot seats, collective sticks and rudder pedals,
rear cabin seat and stanchions. The rotor head comprises of 7
pieces. Rescue hoist and Italian Sonar equipment and antenna are
included with the kit. Decal options are for a USAF, US Marine
Corps or Italian Navy Agusta Bell 212.
Conclusions
I would highly recommend this kit 1980's kit along with your
other 1/72 scale helicopters. You should be able to find this
kit at swap meets and eBay.
Review sample compliments of my wallet.
