The 3 axle off-road passenger car G4 (W31) was designed by Daimler-Benz in 1934. This car had an 8-cylinder engine of 110 hp and 6 passenger seats. The car was intended for the German Army but it was very expensive and far too complicated for mass production. There were only 72 G4 cars produced before 1939. They were mainly used by the highest state and military authorities of Germany.
ICM's kit of the German G4 Personnel Car consists of 303 styrene parts molded in tan and 15 styrene parts molded in clear. All of the parts are crisp and feature great details. There is no flash present and seam lines are minimal. Decals are provided for 2 vehicles. The flags are provided as decals but the swastikas are not provided. The gauges for the instrument panel are provided as decals. Paint colors are called out during construction. Some key features of this kit are:
- Full engine
- Highly detailed chassis
- 2 part wheels
- Detailed drive train and suspension
- Highly detailed interior
- Doors can be assembled open or closed (with cutting)
- Hood can be assembled open or closed (with cutting)
- Detailed light bar
Top can be built on or off (the folded down top is provided, but not mentioned in the instructions)
This is another winner from the growing line of super detailed ICM soft skin vehicles. The details are amazing!
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
