Master Details is back with their latest pilot figure, this time representing a typical US Navy or Marine Corps fighter pilot wearing tropical flying gear typical of South Pacific shore-based operations during World War II. This crew figure is posed standing with one had in his shorts pocket and the other resting on his 1911 .45 caliber pistol holster. The figure is wearing the standard Mae West floatation vest and a web belt for his holster and spare magazine pouch. Two heads are provided, one wearing his flying headcover with goggles, the other wearing a ball cap.
The figure is cast in resin with separate arms also cast in resin. The heads and chin strap for the flight headcover are cast in white metal. While there is no problem using white metal heads on resin figures (cyano will keep them together), the mass of the head will make the figure a little more top-heavy so you'll need a stronger mount to securely hold your figure in place, especially moving this to different locations such as contests.
This figure is available directly from the manufacturer at Master Details' website.
My sincere thanks to Master Details (http://www.masterdetails.com) for this review sample!
