Background
The Impala was first introduced by Chevrolet in 1958 and has been
one of the most popular cars made by Chevy. This latest version
is no different. It’s becoming one of the most popular cars
in the service use category, whether it’s as a police squad
car or in the rental car fleet.
Engine: None. This is a promo styled Easy-kit.
Chassis: Molded in black. Promo style one piece chassis.
Wheels and Tires: No name tires and styled steel
wheels with dog dish hub caps.
Interior: Molded in blue. The interior consists
of a platform-style interior, with separate door panels, 2 piece
front bucket seats, laptop computer, interior barrier, and shotgun.
The rear seat and console are molded as part of the interior bucket.
The dash is a well done one piece unit with a separate 2 piece
steering wheel and a video camera.
Body: Molded in white. In a word “Beautiful”.
No mold lines! No sink marks. Well done engraving overall. The
only flaw I could spot is that the Impala emblems on the C pillar
are a little shallow.
Decals: Well not really. The kit includes stickers for
two different police departments.
Comments: Cleanly molded, attractively packaged with excellent
photos of the model on the box top, side panel and end flaps. The
instruction sheet is well laid out with each part label by name
and with painting suggestions.
The Last Word: It’s and excellent kit, worth the
price of admission. It’s an “Easy-kit” that most
beginners will enjoy. And the Lunatic fringe is just glad to have
this latest Impala available in any form.
