If you've picked up one of Accurate Maxiatures' 1/48 B-25C/D Mitchell
kits, you know that it is a great model straight out of the box.
You may have even noticed that they've included window masks to
help painting of the canopies. Nice touch - but not so fast. If
you've built the Mitchell, you know that the masks aren't sized
quite right for the various windows. Bad dog, no biscuit!
So what to do? Montex to the rescue. They've released this set
of Maxi-Masks for this kit. Their Maxi-Mask line provides masks
for the interior and exterior surfaces of each of the windows.
The interior window masks are compensated in size for those windows
that are curved so that everything lines up properly when the masks
are removed.
In addition to the window masks, a complete set of national marking
stencils are provided for the early-war cockade, the same cockade
with the yellow surround for Operation Torch, or the later war
"Star and Bar". Stencils for RAF tail flashes are also on the sheets.
What's more, the set also includes the nose stencils for the colorful
'Dirty Dora' nose art that is the subject of Accurate Miniatures'
kit 3431. You can now paint on the Dirty Dora scheme and minimize
the decal struggle.
If you want to take the time to mask up your canopies with Scotch
tape, Bare Metal Foil, or whatever your mask of choice is, by all
means press on. But if you want to speed things along, here is
a mask set provides the coverage for all of the kit windows AND
gives you the option to paint the interiors of the clear parts
as well as the exteriors.
Highly recommended! You can purchase this
set online from Design & Marketing
International.
