First Look

AK Interactive has been producing a very wide range of paints and weathering products over the last several years targeted to the armored fighting vehicle and figure modelers. In this release, we have two washes and one pigment to replicate the effects of moss and green growth on abandoned vehicles and/or concrete structures left in moist environments.

AK Interactive AK 4190 Spanish Civil War Colors Set

This set contains six 17ml bottles which include:

  • AK165 Dunkelgrau Base
  • AK746 4B0 Russian Green
  • AK753 NR17 RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb
  • AK754 NR45 RAL 7017 Dunkelbraun
  • AK4013 NR28 USMC Forest Green
  • AK4042 NR18 WWI British Khaki Brown Base

The formulation of this set is a thicker viscosity tailored for good coverage using a paint brush though it can be airbrushed, if desired, using thinner. When using this set on concrete structures and using some of the unique concrete weathering colors, you can replicate that look that happens when nature proves that moss doesn't grow on a rolling stone. Combined with rust weathering products, this set will provide that distinctive look on vehicles and metal structures left unused for extended periods.

My sincere thanks to AK Interactive for this review sample!
