AK Interactive has been producing a very wide range of paints and weathering products over the last several years targeted to the armored fighting vehicle and figure modelers. In this release, we have their latest colors in set two of their US Navy Camouflage series.
This set contains six 17ml bottles which include:
- AK5021 5D Dark Gray
- AK5022 5P Pale Gray
- AK5023 5 Standard Navy Gray
- AK5024 21 Flight Deck Blue
- AK5025 Neutral Haze Gray
- AK5025 Hull Red
Combined with the colors released in set one, you have the key colors to replicate most of the camouflage meaures used during World War II. Some of the colors still required include the camouflage greens used by PT boats and other vessels in the Pacific theater.
The formulation of this set is a thicker viscosity tailored for good coverage using a paint brush though it can be airbrushed as well. This gives you the flexibility to apply base coat, camouflage, etc., using your airbrush and then use the paints for touch-ups after installing photo-etched railings and other details.
My sincere thanks to AK Interactive for this review sample!
