AK Interactive is the world leader in advanced products for weathering and finishing scale models. Each product has been carefully designed and tested on real models by real modelers. The AK products are designed to be easy to use and to save time.
The new generations of acrylic paints, developed in AK's own facilities and laboratories, have been made with the experience of Mig Jimenez and his group. All are non-toxic and have very little smell. The orange cap means that they are exclusive to AK Interactive and not sold under any other brand. The orange labeled paints are for airbrush use while the blue label means that they can be airbrushed or brush painted.
The AK 711 "Chipping Color" is a dark rusty brown color that is perfect for depicting old, weathered chips or scratches. As an orange label paint it can be applied by brush, sponge or airbrush without further dilution.
I applied it with both a fine pointed brush and with a small sponge for my test. Just make sure and shake the bottle well before use. The paint went on very smooth and I found the color to be perfect for replicating small chips and scratches. (For a closer look at the paint and weathering of the model above, look here.)
This paint, as well as all of the AK Interactive products, is only limited by your imagination. I have used most of the products from AK and am always finding new ways to use them. If you want to make your painting easier and save yourself some time, contact AK Interactive. You will be glad you did!
My sincere thanks to AK Interactive USA for this review sample!
