Ammo by Mig Jimenez is family of paints and weathering products designed to take your models to the next step. Master modeler Mig Jimenez helped to launch another paint line by developing and teaching modelers how to make achieve great results with those products. A few years ago, he created his own company and developed a new series of products to tackle areas overlooked by other paint companies.
In this release, they have created a useful set of colors for German WWII armor modelers. The box specifically shows the recent Takom 1/35 King Tiger, but these colors are common in German-mid-war tanks. This set consists of six 17ml bottles of acrylic paints which include:
- A.Mig-002 Olivgruen
- A.Mig-010 Dunkelgelb (mid-war)
- A.Mig-015 Schokobraun
- A.Mig-024 Washable White
- A.Mig-035 Dark Tracks
- A.Mig-037 New Wood
Check your references for color usage of the tank(s) you're building as they did vary by theater but these are the basic colors employed. The rear of the box provides five examples of King Tigers in different theaters between 1943-1944 that illustrate the point effectively.
These paints can be applied by airbrush or standard brush and each bottle includes a metal ball inside to help mix the colors before application. Give them a try!
My sincere thanks to Ammo by Mig Jimenez for this review samples!
