First Look

White Ensign Models continues to expand their colour-matched paint line into a variety of naval, aircraft and armor domains. In this installment, we look at their Royal Army colours spanning WW2 through modern operations. The colours in this selection include:

British Armour Colourcoats
  • ARB01 Gulf Armour Light Stone (BS361)
  • ARB02 Deep Bronze Green
  • ARB04 Mid Bronze Green
  • ARB05 Dark Earth
  • ARB06 Modern British Army Green
  • ARB07 Middle Bronze Green BS381C.23
  • ARB08 Silver Gray BSC381C.28
  • ARB09 Slate BSC381C.34
  • ARB10 Light Purple Brown BSC381C.49
  • ARB11 Light Stone BSC381C.61
  • ARB12 Portland Stone BSC381C.64
  • ARB13 Desert Pink
  • ARB14 Dark Olive Green (North Africa)
  • ARB15 Very Dark Brown BSC987C.SCC No.1A
  • ARB16 Blue Black Disruptive BSC987C.SCC No.14
  • ARB17 Light Mud
  • ARB18 Dark Olive Green (Italy)
  • ARB19 Olive Drab BSC987C.SCC No.15
  • ARB20 Light Bronze Green BSC381C.22

Not a bad variety of colours and this line-up is still growing. What's nice about the Colourcoats tins is that their shelf life is generally longer and you have the built-in paint chips for quick colour-matching on the lids.

You can purchase these and any of the Colourcoat line directly from the White Ensign Models website. They have great service and are a unique resource for the modeler - give them a try!

My sincere thanks to White Ensign Models for these review samples!
