Easy Model 1/72 M4A1(76) Sherman First Look
|Date of Review||January 2007||Manufacturer||Easy Model|
|Kit Number||36248||Pros||Nice details, finish and markings|
We recently had the opportunity to look over some examples from the Easy Model line of products distributed by MRC and seen on quite a few hobby store shelves. In this example, we have an early Sherman from the 2nd Armored Division.
The tank comes mounted to a clear tray and held securely with two philips head screws. Extracting the model from the tray took just a few seconds.
What comes in the box is the Sherman and a placard identifying the product. It was clear from the packaging that this model was not going to get damaged in shipment unless the box itself was crushed. Nice job!
It amazes me just how nice many of these pre-fabricated display models look in terms of detail and finish, especially for the price! This kit features a nice two-color camouflage scheme that is well-weathered. The detailing is quite nice from the rusty track to the 30 caliber machine gun on the top of the turret. The eye appeal of this finish is nicely executed.
This tank would not only look good on the shelf of an armor enthusiast, but it would also be an excellent addition to the wargamer's World War II tank company.
My sincere thanks to MRC for this review sample!
