Here's another title aimed straight for the modeler from Dataview
Publications. This title provides full-color coverage of the A-10
Thunderbolt II. This is #13 in Dataview's "Modeler's Close-Up"
series. Unlike previous versions, this title takes a little time
(and eight pages) to provide a brief history of the aircraft in
development and subsequent combat.
Following the history of the aircraft, this title has 39 full-sized
color photos of up-close details from around the airframe. These
shots range from the wheel wells to the nose gas vents, from
the heater on the outboard missile rail to the Pave Penny pod
suspended under the nose.
These are followed by eleven color shots from the USAF and two
smaller shots from the author's library. Two pages
are excerpts out of the USAF technical order for aircraft paint
schemes (USAF TO-1-1-4) with two pages covering the standard low
visibility schemes used on the A-10/OA-10 fleet (including
FS colors).
This sample was electronic, in Adobe Acrobat(tm)
.PDF format. If you have high-speed
internet access, you can download the title in a few minutes, and
for $4.99, is an inexpensive reference to have around, not to mention
not taking up space on a bookshelf!
This title is available directly from the publisher at Dataview
Publications (www.dataviewbooks.com).
My sincere thanks to Dataview
Publications for this review sample!
