Here's another title aimed straight for the modeler from Dataview
Publications. This title provides color coverage of the McDonnell
Douglas (now Boeing) F-15C Eagle. As a release in their Modeler's
Close-Up line, this title is aimed straight at those details on
the Eagle that would be of interest to modelers wanting to get
the various details 'just right'.
This Modeler's Close-Up is a composite walk around of several F-15Cs
on static display with some shots up in the 'front office'
above even in the avionics pit behind the ejection seat.
There are 47 full-sized photos of different parts of the jet
including some nice up-close shots of the Pratt & Whitney engine
nozzles without those turkey feathers but a nice look at all
of those nozzle actuators.
The final three pages are excerpts out of the USAF technical order
for aircraft paint schemes (USAF TO-1-1-4) with two pages covering
the standard low visibility scheme used on the USAF F-15A/B/C/D
Eagle fleet (including FS colors) and one page covering the original
two-tone blue paint scheme used in the early days of the F-15A
(which I remember all-too-well).
This sample was electronic, in Adobe Acrobat(tm)
.PDF format. If you have high-speed
internet access, you can download the title in a few minutes, and
for $4.99, is an inexpensive reference to have around, not to mention
not taking up space on a bookshelf!
This title is available directly from the publisher at Dataview
Publications (www.dataviewbooks.com).
My sincere thanks to Dataview
Publications for this review sample!
