Here's a title aimed straight for the modeler from Dataview Publications. This is their fourth aircraft offering and covers the Grumman E-2C Hawkeye.

The title starts off with a brief discussion of the Hawkeye production and upgrade versions from the E-2A to the Hawkeye 2000 with an outline of each version's differences.

This title is a compilation of US Navy photos combined with up-close shots of the aircraft on the flightline. Most photo pages contain only one picture per page, giving you essentially an 8"x10" full-color detail shot at your fingertips. What's more, the title is spiral-bound so you can easily prop any page open for reference whilst working on the bench.

Take a look at the Hawkeye on the cover. This is the only shot (unfortunately) of the Hawkeye 2000. You can see the flat circular antenna faired into the bottom of the Hawkeye's cylindrical fuselage. On the other hand, there are some very nice shots revealing details of the new eight-bladed NPS2000 propellers. Now if only we could get a conversion propeller set!

As with the previous titles in this series, the publisher provides you with a nice detailed photo walk around of the aircraft with nice looks into those areas like wheel wells and flap hinges that will help transform your average Fujimi 1/72 E-2C Hawkeye into a nice AMS super-detailed model.

If you have the Fujimi kit stashed away and have postponed building this without some suitable photos, your wait is over. This is just what you need on your work bench. This title is highly recommended!

This title is available directly from the publisher at Dataview Publications (www.dataviewbooks.com).

My sincere thanks to Dataview Publications for this review sample!
