Here's another title aimed straight for the modeler from Dataview Publications. This title provides color coverage of the Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon / CH-53E Super Stallion. This comes about the same time that Academy's stunning 1/48 CH-53E kit hits store shelves.

Following the same formula as their Hawkeye, Prowler, and Mohawk titles, this Modeler's Close-Up combines detail photos taken by the author of a line aircraft (in this case, an MH-53E) with published photos from the US Navy's website covering the MH-53E Sea Dragon mine hunter and the CH-53E Super Sea Stallion multi-mission aircraft.

The photos in this title are clearly printed in full color and will provide the modeler with the colors and details from a variety of nice views. To augment the photos, there are four diagrams from MIL STD 2161A(AS), the US Navy's technical order for how to paint and mark their aircraft.

Most photo pages contain only one picture per page, giving you essentially an 8"x10" detail shot at your fingertips. What's more, the title is spiral-bound so you can easily prop any page open for reference whilst working on the bench.

This Modeler's Close-Up is cover-to-cover color photography which has been color laser printed on quality paper stock. While the subject aircraft are mostly subdued gray camouflage, the color printing helps to quickly identify those non-gray details to help you bring your own H-53E project alive. This title is definitely recommended!

This title is available directly from the publisher at Dataview Publications (www.dataviewbooks.com).

My sincere thanks to Dataview Publications for this review sample!
