The Weathering Magazine - Desert Magazine Review
|Date of Review||November 2015||Title||The Weathering Magazine - Desert|

Accion Press and Mig teamed up to produce a magazine which tackles different aspects of weathering complete with different case studies on each topic. In this 13th issue, the focus is on the desert environment and how to replicate that environment in scale. The subjects/case studies used for this issue include:
- Panzer IV DAK
- Desert submarine vignette
- X-34 Land Speeder (Star Wars)
- DAK figure
- MS-06 Zaku II armored suit
- Road Warrior (Mad Max derivative)
- CMP in the desert
The authors don't focus on the assembly or even scale of the basic models (though you can figure that out on your own) as they usually pick up the story after the model is assembled and some have their base coats of paint in place. Each author addresses the aspects of applying weathering effects common to prolonged desert exposure using a variety of techniques including washes, pigments, etc.
This series looks very interesting, (this is the first issue we've seen) and each tackles a different aspect of weathering, making each issue a valuable resource in your modeling library.
My sincere thanks to The Weathering Magazine for this review sample!
