Phil Cooley

I received word that we lost a good friend and fellow modeler January 6th, 2015 - Phil Cooley. Phil was a member of the Front Range Auto Modelers (FRAM) and the auto editor/coordinator for Cybermodeler Online. Phil was in a tragic car accident on his way home from work. Phil is survived by his wife and three children.

My wife and I worked with Phil in the 1990s while he was stationed at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. We kept in touch after he was transferred to Colorado Springs and we moved to Northeast Indiana. Phil was a Major while at Kirtland and had been promoted to Lt. Colonel while serving in Colorado Springs. He retired from the Air Force but he continued his service to our country to the end.

I am grateful that I was able to attend a FRAM meeting last November and spend the evening with Phil, Ken Kitchen, and other members of the FRAM model club. Thank you Phil for your service, your friendship, and your contributions to our hobby. Our prayers and best wishes go to Phil's family.

Respectfully,
Michael Benolkin
Owner/Publisher, Cybermodeler Online
