First Look

Afterburner Decals has turned out some impressive decal releases covering contemporary US subjects and this one is definitely no exception. This release covers five US Navy Prowlers as they appeared in theater providing electronic warfare support in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

EA-6B EA-6B

This release features two EA-6Bs sporting distinctive and unusual camouflage as well three Prowlers wearing more conventional colors. The aircraft presented in this set are:

  • EA-6B, BuNo 160437, VAQ-142, NL/520, Bagram AB, Afghanistan, 2006
  • EA-6B, BuNo 161120, VAQ-133, NL/530, Bagram AB, Afghanistan, 2007
  • EA-6B, BuNo 161243, VAQ-142, NL/522, Bagram AB, Afghanistan, 2007
  • EA-6B, BuNo 164402, VAQ-142, NL/530, Bagram AB, Afghanistan, 2007
  • EA-6B, BuNo 163400, VAQ-133, NL/533, Bagram AB, Afghanistan, 2007

This decal set provides all of the distinctive markings for each of the aircraft, and enough national markings and maintenance stencils for at least two aircraft.

My sincere thanks to Afterburner Decals for this review sample!
