First Look
AOA Decals has returned with another interesting set of subjects for the Academy 1/48 F-4J Phantom II kits. This set looks at the colors worn by the squadron during two cruises off the coast of Vietnam and one while ashore at NAS Miramar prior to transitioning to the F-4S (briefly).
The subjects included in this set:

- F-4J, 158373, VF-154, NE/100, USS Ranger, 1972-73, CAG aircraft
- F-4J, 158369, VF-154, NE/103, USS Ranger, 1972-73
- F-4J, 158373, VF-154, NE/100, NAS Miramar, 1977-78, CAG aircraft
The color profiles provide detailed information on each aircraft to help you render an accurate model of the subject. As you can see in the decal image above, there are enough markings for two models provided though you'll need extra national markings for the second model. You'll also note that there are no airframe stencils beyond the basics included on this sheet as AOA has released a separate sheet with extensive airframe stencils for that job.
