First Look
BarracudaCals has returned with their next installment in their 1/48 scale aircraft series with this nice selection of P-47 Thunderbolts series aircraft. This set provides three interesting subjects:
- P-47D-30-RE, 42-20866, 65 FS/57 FG/12 AF, 53, 'Schmaltzie' as flown by Lt FJ Middleton, Summer 1944
- P-47D-11-RE, 42-75429, 84 FS/78 FG/8 AF, WZ-S, 'Eileen' as flown by Lt Frank Oiler, Summer 1944
- P-47D-28-RA, 42-28641, 359 FS/368 FG/9 AF, A7-W, 'Sleepy Jean III' as flown by Lt Bill Wayland, Spring 1945
The sheets are printed by Cartograf and are very sharp as well as in-register. The sheet comes with a nice set of maintenance stencils and good instructions on where everything goes. The instructions indicate that these markings will work with any of the 1/48 Thunderbolt kits on the market.
