First Look

Here is the latest release from Caracal Models, this time to provide some colorful options for the Kinetic 1/48 C-2A Greyhound Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD). The aircraft presented in this set include:

C-2 C-2 C-2

  • C-2A, 162154, VRC-40, 43, USS George HW Bush
  • C-2A, 162144, VRC-40, 50th Anniversary Scheme
  • C-2A, 162176, VRC-30, 21, USS George Washington
  • C-2A, 162158, VRC-40, 44

Once in a while a decal sheet comes along that makes me want to build the model just so I can have that paint scheme. Check out the 50th Anniversary Scheme above! If that isn't an eye-catcher, nothing will ever be! Oh yes, there are three more conventional schemes included though all sport colorful tails. Two of the examples (including the scheme above) have the newer 8-bladed propellers while the other two sport the original four-bladed props.

This set is printed by Cartograph and the decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as some other decal manufacturers.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
