First Look
Here is the latest from Caracal, this set for the classic Monogram (Revell) 1/48 Mi-24 Hind D kit and provides markings for six distinctive subjects.
The aircraft presented in this set include:
- Mi-24V, 739, Polish AF, 2014
- Mi-24D, 467, Polish AF, 2014
- Mi-24V, 3370, Czech AF, 2015
- Mi-24V, 7356, Czech AF, 2015
- Mi-24V, 146, Bulgarian AF, 2007
- Mi-24V, 719, Hungarian AF, 2008
This set provides an interesting cross-section of Mi-24 Hinds that remained in service after the former Warsaw Pact countries entered NATO. One interesting subject is aircraft 3370 of the Czech AF wearing the colors and markings (PP-K) of one of the RAF Coastal Command B-24s operated by that squadron during World War II. Aircraft 719 from the Hungarian AF carries two F-15 'kills' that were earned at a NATO exercise (I'd love to hear the backstory on this one!). This decal set provides the color profiles and distinctive markings (all printed by Cartograf) to give you some interesting variety for your next Hind.
