First Look
This interesting release just arrived in the mailbox today. From Max Decals in Ireland, set number 4820 covers the Irish Air Corps between 1990 and 2010. There's a little for everyone here.
This decal set comes on one sheet and provides markings for six aircraft:
- AS 365Fi Dauphin, 244, Irish Air Corps
- SA 316B Alouette III, 213, Irish Air Corps
- SA 342 Gazelle, 241, Irish Air Corps
- Cessna 172H, 206, Irish Air Corps
- SF-260W, 226, Irish Air Corps
- PC-9, 260, Irish Air Corps
Each subject comes with the unique stenciling and markings used by the IAC and as provided, you can build and mark up all six subjects.
The instructions provide good paint and marking references as well as an invaluable list of sources for each of these subjects in 1/48 scale. For example, the PC-9 doesn't yet exist, but is scheduled for release by AZ Model.
If you're looking for some different markings for your next project, these colorful Irish Air Corps subjects are just the ticket. Heck, I even have the Minicraft Cessna 172 that would work well with these markings.
