Yellow Wings Decals 1/32 F9C Sparrowhawk Decal First Look
|Date of Review||September 2012||Manufacturer||Yellow Wings Decals|
|Set Number||32010||Pros||Three colorful options for the F9C|
|Cons||None noted||Skill Level||Novice|
Yellow Wings Decals is back with some new decal releases and in this case, markings for the Williams Brothers 1/32 F9C-2 Sparrowhawk which served as a parasite fighter aboard the US Navy's airships USS Macon and USS Akron. Above the top of the wing was a hook and latch system which allowed the aircraft to be suspended from a trapeze for transport and then launched (dropped) and recovered as the mission required.
This decal set provides markings for three Sparrowhawks and as usual, the decals are printed as single-layer full-color markings from Microscale and all are in perfect register.
This set includes:
- F9C-2, 9056, USS Macon
- F9C-2, 9058, USS Akron
- F9C-2, 9060
The color profiles don't indicate which airship 9060 was assigned to, but the decal sheet has sufficient markings and stencils for you to build all three aircraft. Nice!
