Dangerous is an aftermarket detail company based in Taiwan that produces an interesting range of conversions tailored at adapting existing kits to accurately represent the aircraft as operated by the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF). This set converts the Tamiya, Hasegawa, or Academy 1/32 F-16 tail to the parapack-equipped F-16A tail.
This six-part set provides the base of the tail with the extention for the parapack housing, the vertical stabilizer, rudder, fin cap, and leading edge probe. While the packaging indicates that this is for the ROCAF Block 20, this tail will allow you to replicate any parapack-equipped A-model. At present, there are no 1/32 F-16B/D kits, so we'll focus on the single-seaters.
This set will also convert the F-16C into a parapack equipped fighter such as those flown by Greece and Chile. For this use, you'll need to remove the parapack fairing from the rear of the resin tail base and graft it onto your Academy or Tamiya C-model tail. Insert the parachute (or fabricate the appropriate avionics box) and you now have a parapack C-model as well.
This is a simple, yet useful conversion for your 1/32 Viper kit and will allow you to replicate more of the unique variants of this aircraft in service around the world.
My sincere thanks to Dangerous for this review sample.
