MiG-21PFM Weekend

Eduard 1/48 MiG-21PFM Weekend First Look

By Michael Benolkin

Date of Review March 2014 Manufacturer Eduard
Subject MiG-21PFM Weekend Scale 1/48
Kit Number 49655 Media Photo-Etch
Pros Provides the PE details from Profipak Cons Nothing noted
Skill Level Intermediate MSRP (USD) $19.95

First Look

Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic.

MiG-21PFM Weekend

This set is designed to fit the Weekend edition of Eduard's MiG-21PFM Fishbed F kit. This set provides color-printed instrument panel, side consoles, rear view mirrors, pilot restraints and ejection seat details. The second fret provides the IFF antennae, wing fences, aux intake FOD shields, brake lines, and fuel filler cap.

These photo-etch details provide a nice subtle additional level of detail while the color photo-etch provide some easy to use, eye-popping details in the cockpit.

My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
