First Look

Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic. Many AMS modelers will collect the relevant Eduard photo-etch sets for a given project, but they'll also go out and gather specific resin enhancements as well. Eduard has stepped up with a new product line to complement their photo-etched detail series - Brassin. Brassin is a play on words with Brass and Resin, and in many sets in this series, the resin details also include a set of color photo-etch as well.

Sniper ATP Set

In this release, Eduard has rendered the AAQ-33 Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod as a Brassin detail set. This release is beautifully rendered with details visible inside the sensor head. Rendered in gray resin, clear resin, and photo-etch, this pod provides two configurations to choose from as well as the pylon adaptor. The Sniper (made by Lockheed Martin) as well as its competitor, the Litening (made by Rafael/Northrop Grumman) equip virtually all USAF strike aircraft as well as a variety of aircraft from other nations.

This is a nice enhancement for your next F-15E, F-16, A-10C, B-52H, B-1B, CF-18 projects. While a few of these newer kits have representations of Sniper in the box, you'll want one with more detail and this is the pod you seek!

My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
