In addition to the wide range of photo-etched detail sets that Eduard produces, they also produce a parallel range called 'Zoom'. These Zoom sets are ideal for detail-oriented modelers that have Attention Deficit Disorder or simply don't want to replicate every nut and bolt on a given subject. These Zoom sets take the color photo-etched set out of a more detailed set (that has one or more additional photo-etched frets included) and simply packages these sets separately. What this gives the modeler is the beautifully color-printed cockpit details including instrument panels, throttle quadrants, seat belts, etc.
In this release, Eduard has provided the color-printed details for the recently released Tamiya 1/48 Il-2m3 (two-seat) Shturmovik. As described above, this set provides the instrument panel, consoles, seat belts and shoulder harness, and other key details that will super-detail the cockpit without all of the extra painting needed to get there.
You should be able to find this detail set at your local hobby retailer or one of the many online hobby shops. Trust me, this is worth looking for!
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
