First Look

Here's an interesting concept from Furball Aero-Design - die-cut colored acetate to replicate the tint of thick or armored glass in aircraft windscreens. This set is designed to fit any of the Hasegawa 1/48 F-14 Tomcats. Since I have the Tamiya Tomcat on the bench, I find that this set will also fit that kit's windscreen with no problems.

While there are no instructions for using this product, I would recommend cleaning both the tinted part and the inside of the windscreen with a lint-free cloth before applying a thin coat of Future to the inside of the windscreen. Position the acetate and work out any bubbles. When the Future dries, you'll have a clear and tinted center panel in your windscreen.

This is a nice alternative to trying to paint tinted clears to the center panel and hope that the color remains uniform after application. The price is right and the product easy to use!

Thanks to Furball Aero-Design Models for the review sample.
