First Look
Hussar is one of the brand names produced by AirConnection in Canada. Besides importing a wide range of books, decals, and detail sets from around the world, they produce a growing line of armor accessories in 1/35 scale. Here is another set of very nicely cast resin wheels and tires for the AFV Club 1/35 M59 Long Tom 155mm Cannon kit. We looked at the Type 1 set here.
Molded in light gray resin, this set provides the different wheel hub designs for the different wheel placements on the gun's carriage system. Ten wheels are provided and each has ribbon-styled tread pattern that is crisply cast into each wheel. It is interesting that these molds can produce such high quality tread patters and also finely cast wheels complete with lug nuts. If you don't like the tread pattern on these wheels, Hussar produces three different sets of wheels, each with a different tread pattern and all for the AFV Club kit.
This is a great set to add greater visual fidelity to the AFV Club kit. With that crisp detail, these wheels are just begging for some dry-brushing and weathering!
