First Look
If you're a modeler of the Israeli Defense Forces, you've no-doubt come across many of the excellent decals from IsraDecal or the colorful monographs from IsraDecal Publications. In attempt to bridge the detail gap between production kits and current configurations of IDF aircraft, IsraCast was born to fill this void.
In this release, IsraCast has provided a nice update set to bring your Hasegawa 1/48 AH-64A up to current IDF configuration.
This set provides a new ventral sensor pod (AKA 'Picaso' fairing), two new external fuel tanks for the inboard pylons, new rear fairings for the main landing gear sponsons, new wingtip nav light fairings with new antennas, new antenna domes for atop the wings, and LOTS of chaff/flare launchers that mount around the airframe.
The instruction sheet uses photos of the real aircraft to illustrate how each resin part is supposed to look on the model.
This is a nice update for the Hasegawa Apache to bring that kit up to current IDF configurations and IsraDecal even has a new book and decals out to help you with that project.
My sincere thanks to IsraDecals for this review sample!
