First Look
Pavla produces a wide range of detail sets for a variety of modeling subjects, primarily in 1/72 scale. This release is targeted for the new Italeri 1/48 Mc.200 Saetta kit. This release converts the stock kit from a razorback to an all-glass-enclosed cockpit.
This set provides instructions for removing the rear turtledeck behind the cockpit and replaces it with a new resin deck which provides the new windscreen, sliding canopy, and rear canopy all in vacuformed parts. Two sets of canopies are included in this set 'just in case'. In addition, a new propeller with wide chord propellers and spinner are also included. This set also includes a wider chord rudder to complete the update.
This set also provides decals and painting instructions to render this variant of the Mc.200 which include:
- Mc.200, 372-2, 372 Sqn/153 Group, Brindisi, 1940
- Mc.200, 88-5, 88 Sqn/6 Group, Catania, 1940
- Mc.200, 81-8, 81 Sqn/6 Group, Catania, 1940
- Mc.200, 369-6, 369 Sqn/152 Group, Treviso, 1939
If you want to convert your Italeri kit, Pavla has the parts to get the job done!
My sincere thanks to Pavla Models for this review sample.
