First Look
Scale Aircraft Conversions (SAC) produces an impressive array of white metal replacement landing gear for a variety of models. Some of these sets correct different issues that appeared in production kits, while others are simple common sense replacements to have stronger landing gear on your model.
This release is targeted for the Italeri and Revell 1/72 A-26/B-26 Invader kits. You only have to look at the model to know that there is a lot of styrene aft of the main gear and without some serious ballast, this kit is going to be sitting on its tail after completion. So in this release, Scale Aircraft Conversions has tackled two problems with one set. The first is to provide some nice white metal landing gear to have a stronger set of legs for your model. The second is to replace the kit's instrument panel and cockpit rear bulkhead with duplicates in white metal to provide 5 grams of ballast in the nose to help offset the tail-heavy kit. According to the kit instructions, you'll need a total of 20 grams of weight to allow the aircraft to rest on its nose gear, so you'll definitely want these stronger gear struts!
You can obtain SAC landing gear from your favorite hobby retailer or online hobby shop. If your retailer can't get these for you and you can't this set at your favorite online retailer, then you can get quick service from Scale Aircraft Conversions directly.
My sincere thanks to Scale Aircraft Conversions for this review sample!
