First Look
True Details is one of many brand names produced and sold by Squadron Mail Order. In this release, we have a second variation of the standard Luftwaffe parachute. This is a resin casting of a 1/32 scale World War II era butt pack parachute and harness. This is a typical parachute system for a Luftwaffe fighter pilot or aircrewman and it is nicely laid out just like you'd expect to see it on a wing or tail surface for the pilot to don.
You'll recall that the metal bucket seats in the World War II fighters have no cushions and a rather deep bucket. The parachute pack drops into the bucket as the pilot sits in the aircraft and serves as the cushion on most missions and then proves the essential canopy to save the pilot from a stricken aircraft. True details has captured this pack nicely and will look great painted up and laid out on the wing of a Bf 109, Ju 87, Me 262, He 111, etc..
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
