First Look
True Details is one of many brand names produced and sold by Squadron Mail Order. In this release, they've developed an interesting replacement cockpit detail set cast in light gray resin for the recent Revell 1/48 PV-1 Ventura. While there are a few parts from the kit still used with this set, you can see from the image that there wouldn't be much required. This set replaces most of the stock kit's cockpit parts.
The set first replaces the (soft) details molded onto the insides of the fuselage halves with these new walls with wiring and insulation blankets in place. The set also provides a replacement cockpit floor and rear bulkhead. Two new crew seats are provided with nice seatbelts and shoulder harness details cast in place. The set is rounded out with a new instrument panel, center throttle column, center console, and two control wheels. You do recycle the seat mounts control columns, rudder pedals, and nose compartment step from the kit to complete this nicely detailed transformation.
