Trakz is one of the product lines that come from the creative minds of VLS. They've produced a wide range of resin vehicle accessories that feature great detail and simple construction. Here is another release of interest. Click on the photo to see an enlarged view.
In this set, Trakz has developed an interior detail set for DML's 1/35 ZSU-23-4 (either version). This set provides all of the equipment stacks and the three crew positions inside the turret, and an equally nice (and busy) driver's compartment. This detail set also includes an instruction sheet to identify each of the parts and to show their placement within the vehicle.
No painting instructions are provided, but there are enough references in print and online to get an idea of the interior colors and the colors of the various equipment boxes. Hint: Most electronics inside Soviet combat vehicles were painted silver with black data plates using white lettering to identify functions and settings. The radar scope according to the photos I've seen is yellow-orange.
I've rated this conversion as advanced because this kit will be straightforward in the hands of someone experienced with assembling small resin parts together. As you can see in the cover photo, the assembled interior is quite impressive.
My sincere thanks to VLS for this review sample!
