First Look
videoaviation.com has released a very nice weapons set for modern 1/32 aircraft. These are GBU-38 JDAMs (Mk.82 500lb bombs with guidance kits) which provide current loadout options for a variety of subjects. While this set is identified as USN GBU-38s, these weapons are also used by the US Air Force, and many allied air forces. The primary difference between the USN and USAF versions is not the guidance kit, but the core Mk.82 bombs. The Navy bombs have a textured coating on the bomb's surface for fire protection aboard the ship. videoaviation.com also produces the non-textured bombs used by the USAF in a separate set.
This set is cast in gray resin and provides eight very detailed bombs with separately cast tail sections, suspension lugs, nose radar proximity sensors, and GPS antennas. A set of decal weapons stencils are also included.
You can find out more about this kit and their other upcoming offerings here: videoaviation.com.
My sincere thanks to videoaviation.com for this review sample!
