First Look

White Ensign Models produces an impressive array of kits, details, and paints to make the experience of modeling naval subjects far more pleasant, especially to those of us afflicted with Advanced Modeler's Syndrome (AMS). AMS sufferers can't get enough detail into their models and seek high-tech solutions to satisfy those detail requirements.

Chinook

This set provides a pair of Chinook helicopters in 1/700 scale. These are generic RAF or US Army type aircraft that have photo-etched ramps so that you can pose your aircraft with the ramp up or down.

The airframe is cast as one piece with the details provided as photo-etch including the rotor blades, rotor hubs and ramp. Two complete aircraft are included in this set which you can set on your favorite flight deck or vignette.

All you need to do is apply the appropriate colors for the type of Chinook you're replicating and set the completed model on your scale flight deck. If you add a FLIR turret and an air refueling boom, you can also render one of these Chinooks as a special operations MH-47 which would not be a stranger to flight decks either.

My sincere thanks to White Ensign Models for this review sample!
