First Look

White Ensign Models has stepped up to the challenge of dressing up the beautiful Revell 1/72 Gato-Class submarine. This set provides options that will reflect the variants in electronics fit for the Gato-Class at virtually any point in the war.

Gato-Class Sub Radars and Antennas

Of course the one thing that photo-etch does better than styrene is radar. This set provides the following radar types:

  • SJ (early)
  • SJ-1 (late)
  • SV
  • SS

In addition, the set provides the unique antenna for the DBU early radar warning receiver, the DF loop antenna, the SD antenna, and the spreaders for the wire antennas.

My sincere thanks to White Ensign Models for this review sample.
