First Look
White Ensign Models continues to expand its product lines into broader areas and this detail set is no exception. With this detail set, they've provided one of four detail sets for any of the reissued Matchbox, Revell/Germany, Modelcraft Canada, or Airfix 1/72 Halifax kits.
In this release, the set provides the weapons bays for inside the inboard wing sections as well as for the fuselage. The basic structure is reinforced by ribs and stringers that dovetail together for ease of assembly. Nevertheless, these are small parts and will require patience and a steady hand to get everything together properly.
Doors are provided for the wing bays in photo-etch, while the door mechanisms are rendered in photo-etch for the fuselage bay doors. You can use the styrene doors you cut from the kit or opt for the detailed resin door available separately from White Ensign Models.
This super-detailed conversion with work with any of the reissued Matchbox, Revell/Germany, Modelcraft Canada, or Airfix 1/72 Halifax kits. The instructions provide good references for parts assembly and placement.
