First Look
Werner's Wings has an ever-growing line of detail sets, conversions, and decals focused on the helicopter modeler who wants to take their projects to the next level. At the 2015 IPMS/USA National Convention, owner Floyd Werner was showing off some exciting new products as well as prototypes for products coming in our future. Here is one of their latest releases.
Here is a vacuformed canopy replacement for the Academy AH-1W NTS Upgrade kit in the Academy, MRC/Academy, or AFV Club boxings. While the kit canopy is clear, the thickness of the injection-molded plastic distorts any detail work you do inside the cockpits. This vacuformed replacement is even clearer and the thin plastic provides a much better view inside. What's more, if you opt for an aftermarket nose, this vacuformed canopy can be easily trimmed to fit any minor changes in canopy fit.
If you are planning to put lots of work into the front and rear cockpits of your next Whiskey Cobra project, you'll want to provide a better view of that work with this nice update!
My sincere thanks to Werner's Wings for this review sample!
