First Look

The folks at Hobbyworld have launched a new series of display bases which are rather impressive. Other products typically provide a scene printed on some form of paper or cardstock and leave you with the task of mounting the sheet onto some form of base material. In their 'Quicksandplinth' series, Hobbyworld provides that scene pre-mounted/printed on a 1/4 inch (3mm) thich PVC sheet. The scene is ready to go right out of the envelope.

Road Desert Display

In this case, Hobbyworld has a a section of paved roadway with desert sand encroaching on both sides. The image above shows my Jeep awaiting restoration sitting in the scene but this would be ideal for an MRAP or Gun truck display or even a Humvee with a checkpoint set up. You're only limited by your imagination but these pre-printed and mounted scenes are a great way to show off your handywork on your display shelf or even contest table.

Hobbyworld has quite a few other subjects available in their AFV series as well as a variety of other subjects and scales in their aircraft, sci fi/fantasy, and automotive categories.

If you are looking for a turnkey solution for displaying your models, Hobbyworld has come up with a very nice solution!

These display bases are available directly from the Hobbyworld website.

My sincere thanks to Hobbyworld for this review sample!
