First Look
Italeri has released an interesting kit, a 1/72 scale country house with porch. This architecture is typical of the European countryside and would look nice by itself, or with a Panther or T-34 tank parked next to it. This is done in the same series that supports both static scale modeler and the more dynamic wargamer.
The house is molded in medium gray styrene and is a quick build. It features brick exterior walls plus a porch inside the archways of the exterior. Window shutters and chimney details are also included.
This house is modeled intact - no exterior battle damage, so it would look natural for troops and vehicles to stop by and take a break enroute to the next battle, or perhaps to dig in and make their stand at this house.
In any case, 1/72 modelers will enjoy a complete building that would usually be found in the 1/87 scale HO train communities. It will definitely set your other modeling subjects into a nice diorama or vignette setting. Recommended!
My sincere thanks to Testors for this review sample!
