First Look

Here's an interesting figure from DG Miniatures Artwork entitled Viking Warrior, 10th Century, Wolf Hunter. This is a 75mm figure cast in gray resin and features some impressive sculpting. There is lots of interest in Viking figures since the debut and many seasons of the TV series 'Vikings', and this figure replicates the look and feel of the classic Viking warrior. If you note the dead chap on the beautifully sculpted display base, I'll assume he was Wolf. This figure was sculpted by Dae-Hyeong Kim.

The castings in this kit consist of the main figure, display base, sheathed sword, separate forearms, one holding a wood handing, separately cast cloak, battle ax blade, knife, helmet, and shield. The relief in the surface details will make this figure a joy to paint as well as the variety of materials portrayed, from chain male over tunic, animal skin pants, pelt-covered cloak. fur-covered boots, wood-handled weapons and wood shield, to metal helmet.

If you visit High Calibre Miniatures' website, you'll see this figure and several others from DG Miniatures that are quite impressive.

My sincere thanks to High Calibre Miniatures for this review sample!
