First Look
I'm getting addicted to these HobbyBoss Easy Assembly kits. You've seen several quick builds of these kits here on Cybermodeler Online and each one has been a fun project. I have no doubts this kit will inadvertantly find its way onto the bench as well.
This kit represents Germany's Messerschmitt heavy fighter which was envisioned to be a key to Luftwaffe air superiority but its lack of maneuverability made it more of a target to RAF fighters. The Bf 110 was withdrawn from several theaters and found good use in areas where the Luftwaffe had better control of the skies. The Bf 110 would find its place on the front lines again because of its available internal volume to house a radar set which turned the Bf 110 into an effective night fighter against RAF night bombing raids.
This kit is molded in light gray styrene and presented on two parts trees plus the upper fuselage/wing half and the lower fuselage/wing. One small tree with the canopy rounds out this kit. You can see that this too will be a quick and easy project.
Markings are provided for:
- Bf 110E-1, 2N+EN, 5./ZG 76, Norway, 1941
- Bf 110E-1, 3C+AR, 7./NG 4, Germany, 1942
This is another nice release from HobbyBoss with an interesting subject and a project that can easily be completed in a weekend for those of us that have limited time for modeling.
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
