Following the reissue of the Back to the Future Time Machine kit last year by Round 2 Models under their Polar Lights brand, they're back with another version of this famous DeLorean. Like the first kit, this release was also originally produced under the AMT/ERTL label and again Round 2 Models is reissuing this kit also under the Polar Lights label as they reorganize their growing portfolio of kits under the various brands they now own.

This kit is molded in gray styrene and presented on seven parts trees plus one tree of chrome plated parts, one body shell with a nice brushed finish and four rubber (vinyl) tires. The kit is designed as a snap kit so it goes together with little or no glue and can be finished in a short time, or the detail modeler can take the time to paint and enhance the excellent detailing already molded into this kit.

The kit replicates the car as depicted at the end of the first movie and again in Back to the Future Part II. This time the kit has one configuration with the wheels rotated sideways to lift the car off the ground. The Mr. Fusion power core and other details from the second movie are replicated here. Since there is no option to have the model sit on its tires, the kit also includes a display stand to hold the car in a hover.

This is a nice update of the original kit and will be a fun project for the beginner as well as the advanced modeler wants to see what else can be done with this kit. Nice work Round 2 Models!

My sincere thanks to Round 2 Models for this review sample!
