Skunk Models is back with another very useful kit. This time we have the tow tug used aboard Royal Navy carriers in 1/48 scale which will work nicely with the Kinetic Models Harrier FRS.1 and FA.2 kits as well as the 1/48 Westland Sea Kings embarked on your scale flight decks.

The kit is molded in light gray styrene and presented on three parts trees (duplicate tree not shown). Each tractor kit makes up one parts tree and includes a tow bar and Harrier boarding ladder. The third parts tree provides seven deck crew figures in various poses.

This set includes markings for the pre-1980s tugs that were BSC 356 Yellow as well as the tugs that were BSC 238 Olive Green that were prepainted in the mid 1980s. The kit instructions provide decal placement information.

On the back of the kit box is a section of flight deck which you can fix to a display base and then weather to your satisfaction before placing your Harrier and tug diorama/vignette into place. This set is great to add additional depth to a 1/48 Royal Navy carrier deck diorama or vignette. Kudos to Skunk Models for providing this essential detail for aircraft modelers!

My sincere thanks to Lucky Model for this review sample!
