First Look
Skunk Models is back with another very useful kit. This time we have the Harlan MA-50 tow tug in 1/48 scale which you'll find in use on military and commercial aviation ramps around the world. What's even nicer is that there are three kits in this 'kit'.
The kit is molded in light gray styrene and presented on six parts trees. Four of the trees make up into two Harlan tow tugs, the last two trees make up into the modern missile cart that was previously released by Skunk Models as kit 48004.
The kit provides:
- 2 x MA-50 tow tugs
- 2 x tow bars
- 1 x missile cart
The only down side is that no decals are included to mark up the tugs or the cart. The markings are simple enough with serial numbers and service tags which can easily be made up from spare decals.
This set is great to add some additional depth to a 1/48 scale modern flightline diorama or vignette. Kudos to Skunk Models for providing this essential detail for aircraft modelers! What's even more interesting is that another company has released the Clark tug tractor which arrived at the same time as this Harlan tug.
My sincere thanks to Lucky Model for this review sample!
