First Look

videoaviation.com is back with another nice release. This kit features the MHU-12 munitions trailer which is used by US and allied air forces to move bombs and missiles between the munitions area and the flightline. The MHU-12 is a modular aluminum platform that is roughly 10.5' x 9' (not counting tow bar) and has a hauling capacity of 5000 pounds. There are holes in the surface of the platform for bolsters to be installed to cradle the weapons to be moved. These bolsters can be repositioned or replaced with other shaped bolsters to handle a wide variety of weapons shapes. There are two removable inserts in the center of the trailer to allow for any fins or attachments on the stores to extend below the surface of the platform.

This set is cast in tan resin and consists of 14 parts. The kit provides the basic platform plus the two removable inserts at the center platform. The casting is nicely done with no air bubbles or other problems evident. Technically there are 28 parts in this box because there are two complete kits included. The instructions provide painting instructions to render an early or late version of this trailer.

This is another nice release which will look great next to your 1/72nd scale modern US Air Force or allied combat aircraft, this set will help bring that project to life. Whether you're arming a Vietnam era or OIF/OEF fighter, this gem will allow you to display your bombs or missiles before they're loaded on your aircraft.

My sincere thanks to videoaviation.com for this review sample!
